Shane Sondreal’s practice areas include the preparation, filing and prosecution of patent applications in the electronic/wireless communication, circuit, biomedical, computer systems/networks, Internet, optical imaging, software and semiconductor technology areas. Shane also has extensive experience with client counseling, including licensing and pre-litigation analysis involving opinions of infringement/invalidity. Shane has significant experience in areas of technology including mobile electronics, video/audio processing, media content streaming, computer architectures and various data/communication areas relating to VoIP (SIP/RTP/TCP/UDP/ATM/PSTN), cellular devices (GSM/TTY), analog modulation (AM/FM/QAM), digital modulation (QPSK/OFDM), spread spectrum (DSSS/FHSS/CDMA), Bluetooth, 802.11, WiMAX, video/audio compression and data encryption. Shane also has experience in semiconductor manufacturing and design, including semiconductor physics, materials science, as well as various cross-disciplinary fields including those involving optics, nanotechnology, biological/medical devices, photonic crystals, batteries, and photovoltaic devices. Prior to joining Crawford Maunu, Shane worked for Intel Corporation as an engineer developing products for the telecommunications industry where he gained valuable experience in the design and operation of industrial computer and communications systems, with emphasis in areas including high-speed signaling protocols. While attending law school, Shane has also worked in an IT capacity configuring and maintaining computer networks and systems. Shane attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison where he earned his B.S.E.E. After gaining industry experience working as an engineer, he returned to the University of Wisconsin where he earned his Juris Doctor. Shane is licensed to practice law in several courts and is a registered patent attorney. |
